Student Leaders


Our goal is student ownership of the ministry...  serving God by serving others. 
The SLT develops our themes for each semester, plans trips and develops the CSM Guidelines and leadership requirements.

 

SERVANT LEADERS

Must be dedicated to becoming passionate followers of Christ.

Must be the highest committed students and have proven this position to be their priority by serving as a
Student Leader for at least three months.

Encouraged to be members of Edgewater Church.

Must work on the Daily Steps.


The Two Month Process!!

The student informs the CSM Director of his/her interest in furthering his/her leadership and service
commitment to the ministry.

The CSM Director then initiates the following:

  • An interview with the student is scheduled.  Areas of growth are identified by the CSM Director.
  • The student completes a 40 day spiritual growth book study (A Call To Die by David Nasser).      
  • Weekly meetings with an adult accountability partner are required.
  • The student shares his/her witness statement during RUSH HOUR, and/or TRAFFIC JAM.
  • The student must be approved by the current Servant Leaders.

If approved, the student meets with the CSM EXEC.  The adult leaders may defer students they do not
feel are ready for this leadership position.

 
Servant Leader Expectations

Be actively engaged in public and private worship.

Be regularly involved in service at and through EUMC (15 hours per month).

Weekly leadership during HS RUSH HOUR. Two Sunday night absences allowed each semester.

Lead a small group during MS TRAFFIC JAM.

Leadership during each SPIRITUAL LIFE ADVANCE.

Leadership during the summer mission project and/or Daytona Beach Retreat .

Participate in at least two of three scheduled planning events.

Assist in promoting upcoming events..

Serve on trip Covenant Team and give input for group/individual discipline.

Attend DOT meetings to provide student input.

Bring at least 2 friends to RUSH HOUR each month.

Evaluation each semester with the CSM Director.

Any Servant Leader who breaks the CSM Guidelines will be suspended from the SLT for three months.  
During this period, the student will be closely evaluated.  At the end of the three month period, the student may
(after meeting with the
CSM Director and the CSM EXEC) reapply to be a Student Leader. 

Any Servant Leader who has knowledge of a rule violation and does not inform the CSM Director 
will be suspended from the
SLT for one month.  At the end of that period, the student may reapply
to be a
Student Leader.  After two additional months, the student may be reconsidered as a Servant Leader.


STUDENT LEADERS

Must be committed to growing as followers of Christ.

Encouraged to be members of Edgewater Church.

Must be a very active sophomore, junior or senior.


The Three Month Process!!!

Any adult or student may recommend a student to the CSM Director for consideration.

The student must be approved by the current Servant Leaders.

The CSM Director interviews the student.  Areas of growth are identified.

The student completes a spiritual growth book study (Soul Tending). 

The student must meet three times with the
CSM Director or another appointed CSM leader to discuss the book.

The student shares his/her witness statement during RUSH HOUR or TRAFFIC JAM.

At the end of the three month process, the student meets with the CSM EXEC.  The adult leaders may defer
students they do not feel are ready for this leadership position.

 
Expectations

All SLT requirements are reviewed and updated at each
Student Leadership Team Retreat.
